"Around 3 years ago I became aware of Gavin Laird, his work and his general opinions towards weight training and subsequently, muscular progression. Through Gavin's many contributions to my discussion forum on UK-Muscle.com, my whole appreciation of the muscle building process and my whole attitude towards effective methods for increasing hypertrophy, have been almost revolutionised. As a long-time folower of traditional body building teachings, Gavin's concepts were at first alien to my mind set, at times almost scandolous. However, as I gradually allowed myself to become open-minded and accept that Gavin's knowledge of the game was somewhat superior to mine, I allowed many of his personal tips to creep into my training. Subsequently, after applying maybe 10 months of increased body part frequency and less of the traditionally-accepted "body building intensity", I peaked at the 2004 BNBF Britain championships with my best-ever blend physical display. A blend of condition and fullness achieved without cardiovascular work, a concept in itself, almost alien to many body builders. Since then, I've embraced many of Gavin's theories into my training, as have the clients I prepare for natural body building competition. All have progressed as I did. After 3 years of slowly allowing myself to think outside the "body building box" I will now forever retain the concepts of training that Gavin has taught me. What I feel I have learnt primarily from Gavin, is a re-enforcement of what I began to believe in 2003. The general body building world are woefully behind the rest of the weight-training world in their acceptance of modern-findings and approaches"

"Gavin Lairds Ebook is a fantastic purchase. I would say one of its biggest merits is that It is quite easy to understand. You can grasp the 'science' behind muscle growth without needing a PHD to understand it. Once you have read the earlier chapters, you can then see why the workouts are structured to maximise certain aspects of growth. Once you appreciate that there are many ways to stimulate growth with out just adding more weight to the bar, It can breathe some life into your training.
There is also a workout geared towards strength athletes too, so you can try another cycle if you choose.
Also, I've never seen a product at this price with online support. You don't feel as if an author has taken your money, and left you to get on with it! I've had quick responses to any queries I've had: where else can you get this type of support from an expert without paying $$$'s ??? This book, along with Gavins website, certainly has opened my eyes. I know this sounds cliche, but its the book I wish Id had years ago! Whether you are new to bodybuilding, or consider yourself more advanced, I would suggest you buy the UHT ebook. 10 out of 10!"

"I first started training at Gavin Laird's gym about a year ago and within that time I have made huge gains in strength and muscle size, as well as in my knowledge of training and nutrition. Through what I’ve learned from Gavin's wealth of expertise I feel confident enough to not only manage my own training but also to advise and direct others. He has opened my eyes to a whole new way of training and has been a joy to work with, not least because he’s a top geezer who will be sorely missed when he heads up North. All I can say to anyone who might be considering training with Gav in the future is go for it, you’ll be glad you did! "

"With over twenty years of resistance training behind me, I am always keen to explore the possibilities for improving my physique. About two years ago, I started to engage in conversation with Gavin (through Jason Rickaby’s natural bodybuilding forum on www.uk-muscle.com) about the possibility of refining my approach to training. Before then, I had always used a conventional split programme, training each body part every 5-7 days. Gavin introduced me to the idea of increasing training frequency so that it might be possible to train each body part at least every 72 hours, through variations of an upper/lower body split programme. As soon as I started to work with this 2-on/1-off programme, with increased volume of sets across a full range of exercises, I noticed considerable improvements in my condition and in the quality and size of each muscle group trained. This meant I was able to reinstate the anabolic environment within my body, through an optimum turnover of body parts leading to enhanced protein synthesis and the stimulation of growth hormone release via additional training volume and the introduction of shorter rest periods between sets. Within two years, this approach has literally transformed my physique, and has in no small way contributed to my success as a lifetime natural athlete. "

"RH&F contributor Gavin Laird knows more about strength training and muscle building than pretty much anyone in the UK, and he is also darn good at getting his message across in science-packed yet layman-friendly terms. He’s written "UHT - Training For Hypertrophy", an e- book that begins with the challenge ‘what’s wrong with ‘normal’ bodybuilding training?’ and goes on to outline where most folk go wrong and, more importantly, how they can get it right. Whether you’re starting out in the muscle building world, or are an old hand, whether you’re making gains or have hit a plateau the size of Utah, you’re guaranteed to learn stuff here, stuff that’ll help you up to that next level of development. "Gavin has been instrumental in my progress over the past two years. His initial advice opened my eyes to a system of training I wish I'd found years ago. The UHT Ebook is THE essential scientific training manual. It consolidated everything he had previously taught me, explaining hypertrophy from a cellular level through to assembling a fully adaptable program. It's been an education to say the least. Many thanks Gavin."

"After nearly 20 years of training I thought I knew most of what there was to learn about bodybuilding, hypertrophy and weight-training. I then had the good fortune to get in touch with Gavin who swiftly blew that idea out of the water, and I'm glad he did. The information he's given me in the last year is more valuable than the majority of info I've read or studied in the previous 19. Thanks to him I can now say that I'm much nearer to learning most of what there is to learn about bodybuilding, hypertrophy and weight-training,or at least most of what's useful to know about them."

"Gavin,
Thanks again for all your help and advice its been an immense help. I'll definitely be using your consultation services again in the future. (probably for something totally different once I've done ultra-fit and need a new challenge.)"

"Gavin,
I'm still on your bench press program. Just did 4 sets of 3 at 90% 1 rep max on Monday. Felt pretty comfortable, which is good, because I've only ever managed 1 set of 3 at 90% before, and that was an absolutely gargantuan struggle. The program is definitely improving my strength and I have followed it pretty much to the letter so far."

"Gavin,
Thank you so much...you gave me a great way of looking at my health..I WILL keep up the hard work."
